The Journey of
Fiskani

From a Little Girl in Zambia to an International Fashion Authority

Fiskani's journey is one of passion, perseverance, and a relentless pursuit of beauty, a story stitched together across continents, cultures, and couture.

A Wardrobe of Dreams

Fiskani was born in Ndola, Zambia’s third-largest city, in the heart of Africa’s Copperbelt Province.

Like many little girls, Fiskani grew up playing dress-up, but her stage was her mother’s closet, and her costumes were pieces that felt like treasures. Each time she slipped into her mother’s clothes, she felt something ignite inside her. That spark, that illumination, never left her.

Crossing Oceans, Chasing Ambitions

At the age of 10, Fiskani moved to the United States. She attended boarding school, then university, and while she was just a year away from graduation, she made a bold decision, to follow her passion for fashion full-time.

It was a leap of faith that would set the stage for everything to come.

The First Step Into the Spotlight

Fiskani’s fashion journey began at the legendary Damselle Furs in New York City, where she first worked as a fur model. Her keen eye for luxury and bold styling choices quickly transitioned her into sales, and soon, into the role of a personal stylist.

Her talent didn’t go unnoticed. In no time, she was styling high-profile figures in the music industry, including a fateful connection with fellow African, artist and entrepreneur Akon, that would take her around the world.

From Backstage to the Red Carpet

As Akon’s exclusive stylist, Fiskani traveled the world, building a reputation for her impeccable taste and professionalism. Soon, she was styling icons like Toni Braxton, TLC, Keith Sweat, and John Legend.

In 2005, she opened her first showroom, Fiskani Inc., in Buckhead, Atlanta becoming the go-to stylist for music videos, red carpet events, magazine editorials, and television appearances. For over a decade, Fiskani became a trusted name for artists and brands alike.

The Curator’s Closet

In 2015, Fiskani opened The Ivy Showroom in Atlanta’s posh Buckhead district, a 12,000 sq ft fashion wonderland curated to perfection. Here, celebrities, stylists, and fashion lovers can find couture from all over the globe.

For Fiskani, it was more than a business. It was a dream realized, a place where anyone could step inside and have their own unforgettable fashion moment.

Dressing the Moments That Matter

Since opening The Ivy Showroom, Fiskani has styled over 10,000 clients. Her wardrobe has appeared on the Oscars and Grammys red carpets, in People, Vanity Fair, and Rolling Stone, and in hit films and TV shows like Black Panther, Coming 2 America, and P-Valley.

She’s not just dressing people, she’s shaping their presence, their confidence, and their unforgettable moments.

I still feel the same light inside me that I felt as a little girl in Zambia, playing dress-up in my mother’s wardrobe. Fashion still lights me up inside.”
